Elemental, romantic, eventful – we are located midst the fascinating landscape of the Nature-Park „Zittau Mountains“. On the Ridgeway-Bikeway we leave the river Neisse in the Three-Country-Point behind us. Pleasent anticipation for more and new discoveries and impressions goes with us and encourages us to go on.
With our bikes we reconnoitre (on 28 km) the National-Park „Zittau Mountains“. Along the Ridgeway-Route we drive from Hradek n. N. through Altharthau at the Neisse-Dyke to the Three-Country-Point, where the three neighbours Germany, Czech Republic an Poland meet each other; we look back for a moment to the silhouette of the town with its precious art historically treasures (as the Big Lenten Veil of Zittau from 1472).
We cycle in the direction of „Lake Olbersdorf“. In the breathteaking landscape scenery of the „Zittau Mountains“ we get the opportunity for adventure, fun and relexation. Our way leads us through Bertsdorf-Hörnitz, past the „Castle-Hotel Althörnitz“ in the direction of Mittelherwigsdorf along the river Mandau to Hainewalde, where we discover the „Kranitz-Kyawsche“ crypt. Next we arrive the textile village Großschönau. We are expected from a fascinating and graceful housing estate with its unique half-timbered houses. Here we find among other things the German Damask- and Towelling-Museum. Than we drive through the picturesque „Lasur-Valley“. In front of the little village „Herrenwalde“ it is recommended to make a short trip to the Nature-Park-House beside the village church. The Ridgeway-Bikeway goes on to Dolni Podluzi in the Czech Republic.

The bikeways in the czech part are in most cases fixed traffic routes. In the location Jezerka (Small Jezera Mountains) two bikeways start. The nothern route is adequate for touristical excursions. The southern rout leads to ambitious grounds in the Jezera Mountains and the „Jeschken-Ridge“. For the assortment of bikeways the existing ways were essential – the Ridgeway should be used as often as possible. A part of the bikeway leads through the Oder-Neisse-long-distance-bikeway, which is one of the most important european bikeways of the Euroregion Neisse.
