In winter we experience on a 20 km long skiway the beauty of the white season in the open and intact countryside of the Nature-Park „Zittau Mountains“.
Fresh snow covers hills, peaks and villages. We enjoy crystal clear air in charming winter scenery with its sparkling beeches, spruces and many houses decorated with „Herrnhuter Stars“.
The most beautiful with guaranteed snow well prepared parts of the Ridgeway-Skiway in the Nature-Park are kept ready for round trips for wintersports.
The Lausche-Ridgeway round trip offers on 2 to 5 km long ways fun in the snow for every conditions. We start our trip at the „Hubertus-Mountain-Hut“ uphill. When the wood gets thinner we are at the „Lauscheborn“ and the way is now more plane. It goes on near the border to our czech neighbours. Who wants to get more fun in the snowy brightness can ski in the direction of Weberberg.
The Jonsberg-Round-Trip is 4,6 km long. The state-approved climatic health-resort Jonsdorf offers much more than phantstic and diversified winter holidays.
A placid winter-tour, also for the whole family, offers us the Hochwald-Round-Trip with the starting point on the Ridgeway-Mountain-Hut on a distance of 5,9 km.
On the Jeschken-Sight round-trip in Lückendorf we enjoy the move across grassland on a relaxed 2,8 km long tour with fresh air in the „Zittau Mountains“.
Finally our tip: especially the snow-covered wide grassland of Lückendorf is ideally suited for beginners and unexperienced skiers.
After our sporty trip rustic mountain huts, litte inns and cafes invite us to stay and warm up. While smalltalks with local people and guests we hear many interesting things about this delightful spot of land and its tradition and culture.

The cross-country ski trails on the czech part of the Ridgeway are  taken into account according to their cultivated and climatic conditions. In lower places the circumstances for winter sports are seldom good enough. From this follows that the use of cross-country ski trails without restrictions is only possible in the Jezera Mountains and on good cross-country ski trails in the Lusatia Mountains. The czech part of the cross-country ski trails of the Ridgeway connects to the system of the well groomed Jezera Mountains-Main-Street (Jizerska magistrala), on this route are some natural reserves. The well grooming of the cross-country ski trails was startet in the year of 1984 in the former Czech Republik.
