On the Oder-Neisse-Bike-Path from the Three-Countries-Point near Zittau to the eldest Cistercian Convent of Germany near Ostritz.

From the Three-Countries-Point Germany – Czech Republic – Poland along the Neisse-Flood plain throughout the railway viaduct, the first target is the animal park Zittau in Weinau-Park.

The bike hike leads parallel to the federal highway B 99 to Hirschfelde. The technical memorial „Upper Lusatian Industrial History“ is a 150 m long machine hall from the in 1992 closed brown coal power station with turbines, steam engines and boiler plants.

The village Rosenthal is pictorial located on the hillside. On the old trading road through the village brewer from Zittau and Görlitz once fighted against each other in their „Beer Battle“ (Bierkrieg). In the wild-romantic breakthrough Neisse-Valley, the Convent Forest (Klosterwald), the ride hike is exceeding idyllical.

1 The abbey of the Cistercian Convent near the river exists continiously since its formation in 1234. A Convent-Guidance is advisable. From the station hill (Stationsberg) with its way of the cross the scenic baroque ensemble with Convent-Church, Michaelis-Chapel and the institutions of the International Centre for Encounting are an expressive experience.

From Ostritz the way back to the villages Dittersbach and Schlegel in the direction of Hirschfelde on a high route is possible. It is worthwhile to go up-hill for the gorgeous view to the near Jizera and Giant Mountains.
